ENNIS, Texas – It has become a tradition during the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series for race tracks across the country to recognize and honor first responders and members of the armed forces. The Texas Motorplex has been a consistent supporter of both remarkable groups of people and their families over the years. This year during the 36th annual Texas NHRA Fall Nationals and Stampede of Speed, the Texas Motorplex will once again offer members of the active or retired military, government employees and first responders a variety of ticket discounts to the NHRA national event.

“We look at all the sacrifices first responders and members of the military make every day or have made throughout their careers, and we just wanted to say thank you,” said Andy Carter, Texas Motorplex General Manager. “We will be recognizing representatives from the Dallas Five as well as members of the armed services and first responders throughout the event. We also have a special promotion with the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation on Saturday.”

Military members will be able to save 20% on Adult Reserved Tickets on any race day. The offer is also redeemable online in advance through a unique purchase link available to verified users on GovX. Additionally, savings will be available at the gate with a presentation of professional or Military ID at the ticket window.

On Sunday morning during the opening ceremonies country music sensation Coffey Anderson will perform his hit song Mr. Red, White and Blue, during the first responder parade and then he will belt out the national anthem in front of the capacity crowd before the first round of eliminations. Coffey has sold over 700,000 iTunes downloads (without a record label), has over 203,000 YouTube subscribers, over 621,000 Facebook likes, over 31,000 Twitter followers and over 157,000 Instagram followers.

The Texas NHRA Fall Nationals and Stampede of Speed is being contested from October 1-10. Four Nitro qualifying sessions will be contested on Friday, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Saturday, 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., for the Top Fuel and Funny Car teams. Final elimination will be contested on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m.
