Playing in the Dirt at Bristol

by Dixie Haag | Posted on Sunday, March 28th, 2021

This weekend is a dirt race.  As I thought about what kind of fun snack or drink I was going to explore in honor of the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway, I couldn’t help but think of the fun kid’s dessert that looks like a cup of dirt with gummy worms in it.  We’ve done those for our kids when they were little.  I started thinking. . .I bet that could be a great adult treat as well.  Sure enough, there are Drunken Dirt versions.  I ended up combining information from a few versions I found online.  My Drunken Dirt Cup doesn’t have worms, though, because worms won’t be playing in our dirt this weekend, cars will!  My favorite driver of all time is still Dale, Sr., and he won many times at Bristol, so my cup has his car, but you can grab your favorite driver’s car or checkered flag and decorate it any way you want.

Drunken Dirt Cup

1 c. cold milk

1 pkg. chocolate pudding mix

1 1/2 oz. whipped cream vodka

1 1/2 oz. butterscotch schnapps

2 oz. Irish cream

whipped cream

crushed oreos

Mix the milk, chocolate pudding mix, vodka, schnapps, and Irish cream together in a bowl. Whisk until firm.  Add whipped cream to taste and stir until completely integrated.  Add as many crushed oreos as desired until you like the consistency.  Place this mixture in cups (shot glasses or any kind of glass you like).  Top with crushed oreos and decorate as you desire (more whipped cream with sprinkles, a race car, a checkered flag, etc.).
