FORT WORTH, Texas – Only at Texas Motor Speedway is 1½ pounds of a variety of barbeque meats not nearly enough to satisfy the imaginative mind of Levy Restaurants Executive Chef Lincoln Engstrom when it comes to the creation of yet another Hawg Heaven novelty concession item.

Chef Engstrom’s latest concession item is a potato of prodigious proportions, the 24-ounce Hawg Heaven “Taternater” that will debut at next weekend’s AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Playoff tripleheader weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Texas-sized, smoked potato is a meal in itself but not at world-renowned motorsports facility. The stud spud is overstuffed with a robust pound-and-a-half mix of BBQ pulled pork, brisket and hickory black pepper sausage.

But wait there’s more when you’re dealing with Chef Lincoln, especially the bacon-infused portion of the recipe that is the signature of the Hawg Heaven line that began in 2013.

The potato and barbeque meats are covered with a creamy and spicy bacon jalapeno mac ‘n cheese and a creamy bacon gravy. The big spud finally is topped with a helping of onion crisps to add a little crunch to the recipe.

“This will surely ‘starch’ the engines of our race fans,” quipped Chef Engstrom. “The Hawg Heaven ‘Taternater’ is the perfect fall feast for our race-starved fans that have been waiting six months for NASCAR to return to Texas Motor Speedway.”

This super-sized spud is $12 and only available at the Levy All-American Stand 405 concession.

The “Taternater” will be on sale throughout the NASCAR tripleheader playoff weekend that features the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series JAG Metals 350 on Friday, Nov. 2, NASCAR Xfinity Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 on Saturday, Nov. 3, and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series AAA Texas 500 on Sunday, Nov. 4.

The Hawg Heaven concession line began in 2013 with Hawg Heaven Bacon Cotton Candy. The line also has featured the Shake ‘n Bacon Brew bacon-infused beer milkshake, Bacon Nachos, Queso Wings, Double Barrel Dawg, BBQ Melt, Ranchero Dawg, Funnel Fries, the BLT, and more, over the years.
