FORT WORTH, Texas – The official lighting of one of the state’s tallest living Christmas trees followed by a holiday-themed fireworks show will highlight the annual Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter Grant Ceremony set for tonight on The Speedway Club Circle at Texas Motor Speedway.

The outdoor event, free and open to the public, will feature nearly $400,000 in grants being distributed to North Texas children’s organizations and the lighting of a massive 59-foot Douglas fir that culminates with a fireworks display in front of Texas Motor Speedway’s administration building located at 3545 Lone Star Circle in north Fort Worth.

The ceremony also includes a special visit from Santa Claus, performance from the Chisolm Trail Middle School Choir and the distribution of 100 bicycles and helmets to less fortunate children courtesy of PrimeLending.

Guests will be treated to complimentary hot cocoa and Christmas cookies as well as a complimentary ticket ($25 value/one voucher per family) for that evening only for the Gift of Lights display at Texas Motor Speedway (www.tmsgiftoflights.com).

The hour-long program begins at 6 p.m. CT. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis and guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
