FORT WORTH, Texas  – Last Sunday’s Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway dominated the TV motorsports landscape while going head-to-head against Formula 1 and IndyCar.

The May 4 Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY drew 2.56 million viewers on FS1, outperforming the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix (2.1 million viewers on ABC) and IndyCar (914,000 viewers on FOX). The Cinco de Mayo Weekend event topped all sporting events for the week across the FOX family of networks.

“Fantastic weather, planning, execution and a track surface coming into its own all came together to produce an amazing Cinco de Mayo race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway,” said Texas Motor Speedway Executive Vice President & General Manager Mark Faber. “We had a packed house of race fans from across the country and around the globe, plus millions more watching on television.

“Jimmie Johnson called Texas Motor Speedway a ‘Treacherous Track’ last year and, along with the drivers, it delivered a little something for everyone: side-by-side racing; a little chaos; and a third-of-a-second margin of victory in overtime. The Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY was everything our team worked so hard for this past year, and we’re receiving great feedback from our fans that this race and the overall experience were exactly what they wanted.”

Viewership of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series through 12 races (including The Clash) is up 13% on FOX and 16% on FS1 YOY.

In addition, Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 on The CW pulled in 1.002 million viewers, and Friday’s NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250 on FS1 garnered 401,000 viewers.

Texas Motor Speedway NASCAR Weekend Viewership Overview

NASCAR Cup Series: The Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY earned a 1.38 household rating on FS1, with an average of 2.6 million viewers tuned in per minute, up +7% over the 2024 NCS Dover (race #11 in 2024) and up +9% over 2024 NCS Texas which ran as race #9 in mid-April last year.

*The Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY 400 was the most-watched points race at Texas since 2020 when it was run in July on NBCSN (2.7 million)

*The Texas Motor Speedway NASCAR tripleheader weekend ranked as the #2 sport on cable over the weekend behind only the NBA Playoffs and delivered the #1 sports telecast across FOX Sports this week (including FOX broadcast network). It faced even more competition in a crowded sports landscape, going head-to-head with Dallas-based Scottie Scheffler’s record-setting performance in the Byron Nelson Classic and airing on a weekend that also included the Kentucky Derby and NHL Playoffs.

*At peak, 3.2 million viewers tuned in

NASCAR Xfinity Series: the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 on The CW earned a 0.56 household rating on The CW with an average of 1.0 million viewers tuned in per minute

*No direct YOY comparison; Last year race #12 was Charlotte on FOX (1.2 million)

*Viewership in 2025 was up +25% over 2024 NXS Texas which aired as race #8 in mid-April on FS1 (803,000 viewers)

*At peak, 1.3 million viewers tuned in

Formula 1 (Miami GP): the event in Miami earned a 0.77 household rating on ABC with an average of 1.6 million viewers tuned in per minute.

*Viewership for the entire telecast was down -45% YOY, but it is important to note that the 2024 F1 race had an NBA Playoff Game 7 as lead-in, which carried 3.9 million viewers into F1 coverage just prior to the start of the race

*The 2025 race did not have a sports event lead-in and carried 538,000 viewers into pre-race commentary

*When compared to the 2023 race, which also had no live sports lead-in and a duration similar to 2025, this year was down 3%

IndyCar (Barber): Sunday’s IndyCar race on FOX averaged a 0.50 household rating with 914,000 viewers per minute, up +20% over this event last year which aired on NBC opposite NCS Dover

Weekend Motorsports, ranked by audience size:
