I’m looking forward to the Auto Club 400 on May 20. Dale Jr and Jimmy Johnson are putting on their superhero fire suits and climbing in their specially painted cars in honor of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie that releases May 25. This is one of those times when two things I love collide. I love Dale Jr, and I love Batman. I have been a comic book to screen fan for a while. Ironman and Batman are my favorites. They embody the human ingenuity I admire. Both characters are human…no toxic intervention, bug bite or alien lineage…just humans who push the limits of technology to do great things. Both characters are independent and often irreverent.  I think it’s perfect that Dale Jr represents Batman in this face off. Dale Jr is loveable because he is just so darned human. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He gets excited and disappointed just like the rest of us, but he also manhandles machinery like Ironman and Batman. So while watching the Auto Club 400 on May 20 I will root for Dale Jr like always, but he will look to the rest of the world like the superhero I think he is…a human who harnesses technology to make the world a better place to be.
