Keeping Updated on the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500

by Dixie Haag | Posted on Sunday, February 28th, 2016

I won’t be home today during the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. I will be working a local basketball tournament. It’s one of those many, many days when there are several different places I would like to be. So, my husband will DVR the race in case something happens I just HAVE to see when I get home later. He will keep me updated on the things I want to know, all while he lounges on the outdoor patio at home with the TV set up for outdoor viewing. My son will fluctuate between his video games, basketball games on TV and staying up to date on the race. Now that my son’s favorite driver is no longer racing, he may pull for the new #24, but it’s a little too soon to tell. He lost interest in the Daytona 500 last week when Chase Elliott spun out, so I guess we will see how that young, talented driver does today. Maybe Elliott will gain a new fan! The things I will need Mike to update me on today include Dale Jr. . .I always want to know how Dale does. He’s my favorite driver, and I’ve been pulling for him for years! I also always want to know how Kevin Harvick does. . . because I don’t like him. I obviously don’t know him personally, it’s just racing. I never want Harvick to win. I guess it’s because I was still so sad when Harvick came on the scene. I understood the need for a replacement driver, but I didn’t have to like it. I never have. . .so, I’ll be wanting updates on his performance just to make sure he doesn’t win. Mike always enjoys taunting me if Harvick is making a good run. Finally, Mike always lets me know if there huge wrecks. We know as race fans they happen. We never want anyone hurt, but it sure is exciting to see all the smoke, crumpled cars and tire tracks. So, I’ll be getting my updates while the race goes on! I hope you have a great time watching the race or off doing whatever it is you want to or have to do this beautiful Sunday afternoon!vcsPRAsset_2464767_96299_9ea4f5ea-7d79-4312-bdc5-86b3e0e37dc1_0
