By JM Hallas Marble Falls, Tx. – After a full day of qualifying for both the Pro and Sportsmen classes, it was time for two more rounds to improve your qualifying spot, or perhaps back up any record runs. At the end of today the times/boats would be set up in brackets for Sundays eliminations. Getting a better qualifying spot sets up early runs against lower qualified boats, which is normally an advantage Just to refresh, Fridays top qualifiers in the Pro classes saw Bryan Sanders lead the way in Top Fuel Hydro, Travis Tuttle in Top Alcohol Hydro, Tony…

By JM Hallas Marble Falls, Tx. – Action kicked off Friday with a new format for 2016 and the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series. In the past the morning times were slated for an open test-n-tune before afternoon qualifying passes. The new format has two rounds of qualifying for all classes as the banks of Lake Marble Falls echo with the thunder of horsepower. To say it was hot would not do it justice, it was a scorcher. Teams, racers and fans stuck it out through the day for qualifying runs though. During license passes prior to qualifying Bill…

With only five more points races scheduled before Team Finals, the points chases are taking shape in all four classes.[Electronics(Box), Foot Brake(No-box), Street and Jr. Dragster] and today, double points were on the line. From there,…

TOPMA’s first rule(and only real rule, except safety), “Run what ya brung and hope it’s enough.” They run heads up, on a .400 pro tree and a…
By JM Hallas MARION – San Antonio Raceway hosted another round of IHRA Summit Super Series bracket racing, the fourth of the season, on the 1/8 mile track outside San Antonio. Despite gray drizzly skies, a good field of Electronics (Box) and Foot Brake (No-box) racers singed in along with the Jr Dragsters and Street Class. Track crews had the surface ready for racing, but after one round of time trials for Junior Dragsters and Foot Brakers, Mother Nature had other ideas. A heavy drizzle/light rain fell for nearly an hour delaying practice runs, but crews held the track and…
