Pleasanton, Texas – Once again the roar of race engines will be heard at I-37 Speedway, just south of town on. After being closed for several seasons, R&M Promotions has picked up the lease on the ¼ mile, semi-banked, dirt oval and will begin their season this coming weekend. After a successful open practice on Saturday the 18th, another Friday practice is slated for the six classes running at the facility. Saturday night will be the tracks first official race.

The regular weekly classes will be the Cash Bred Off Road Modifieds, Nogalitos Gear Limited Late Models, Swenson Racing Products Sport Modifieds, SABFI Transportation Street Stocks, All In Designs Pure Stocks and Brown Chevrolet Sport Compacts.

The track will run every other weekend with two special two-day shows scheduled, one mid-season, and the always well attended Big Buck Shootout at years end.

R&M Promotions (Ray Doyon III and Michael Keylich) both come from an extensive racing background. Doyon, a long time area circle track racer, has another generation of family coming up through the ranks. Keylich, on the other hand, comes to the table with drag racing credentials. This should make for an interesting combination. George Jones, who has run San Antonio Raceway and the Cycle Ranch in the past, will be in charge of managing day-to-day operations.

Since early this year track officials and volunteers have been out working on upgrades at the track. New grandstand seats and buildings have been constructed, as well as rewiring the facilities lighting and a fresh coat of paint.
