Texas Motor Speedway rolling out ‘Trending Now’ News Blog today

FORT WORTH – Beginning today the Duck Commander 500 NASCAR doubleheader weekend, Texas Motor Speedway will roll out a “Trending Now” news blog on its website and mobile application that will feature up-to-the-minute news, schedule updates, on-track recaps and more for its three major race weekends.

The blog, located on the right side of the texasmotorspeedway.com home page, will contain the latest news for fans on both on-track and off-track activities as well as various news items throughout the race weekend.

Motorsports veteran writer John Sturbin will anchor the daily coverage with recaps of all on-track activities for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series as well as breaking news or interesting tidbits from the day’s activities.

“Trending Now” blog readers also will have the ability to share the stories, photos and news items through social media platforms Twitter and Facebook as well as email.

The Texas Motor Speedway mobile app is available for both iPhone and Android users and can be downloaded at the iTunes Store and Google Play Store.

On-track action begins Thursday with practices for both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (4:30-5:55 p.m. CT) and XFINITY Series (3-4:25 p.m. and 6-6:55 p.m.).

Friday’s schedule will be highlighted by the SportsDay Qualifying Day powered by The Dallas Morning News (Sprint Cup, 1:45-2:45 p.m. and XFINITY, 3:45-4:45 p.m.) followed by the running of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 XFINITY Series race at 7:30 p.m. (TV: FOX Sports 1, Radio: Sirius XM Channel 90, PRN and 95.9 FM The Ranch locally).

The weekend culminates with Saturday night’s running of the Duck Commander 500 Sprint Cup Series race, the third-highest paying race, beginning at 6:30 p.m. (TV: FOX, Radio: Sirius XM Channel 90, PRN and 95.9 FM The Ranch locally).
