FORT WORTH, Texas – This past Thursday Denton County’s 100,000th COVID-19 vaccine was  administered at Texas Motor Speedway.

Since early February Texas Motor Speedway has been a major Denton County Public Health vaccine site, featuring a 16 lanes of traffic which has allowed DCPH officials to administer up to 1,000 doses per hour.

Despite only operating just two or three days per week due to vaccine availability and having to miss about a week due to the winter storm, it took officials very little time to reach the 100,000 mark.

Ruth Owens from Little Elm, Texas received the 100,00oth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.  Owens was informed and recognized by Denton County Judge Andy Eads.
