held this Friday at TMS during the Universal
Technical Institute Friday Night Drags at 10 p.m.

The second week is shaping up to be another explosive night – on and off the track.

Each Friday of the Universal Technical Institute Friday Night Drags schedule will feature a different theme, and with Independence Day right around the corner, Week 2 is fittingly Fireworks Night presented by Snap-on Tools.

The “Earliest Fireworks Show In The Metroplex” is scheduled to begin at approximately 10 p.m. CT at Texas Motor Speedway as the drag competition will take a break in the action to celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July holiday with an array of different pyrotechnics on the venue’s backstretch.

For a general admission ticket of $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, visitors will have their own seats in the grandstands to enjoy the fireworks show as well as the drag racing competition. Tickets are available for advance purchase at www.texasmotorspeedway.com or at the Gate 6 ticket booth.

Parking is free in the PSL lot outside of Gate 6 and available for $20 in the infield (with admission included in the pricing). Coolers are permitted in both the grandstands and infield.

The Universal Technical Institute Friday Night Drags runs through July 27. Prizes are awarded to the top racer across seven different divisions each week with an overall champion crowned in each division on the final week of the season.

Each week also features the Hills Air Support Show-N-Shine, which gives car enthusiasts the opportunity to show off their cherished rides while earning weekly awards in four different categories.

The cost is $20 to participate in the Universal Technical Institute Friday Night Drags or Hills Air Support Show-N-Shine competition each week.

Each week the infield, grandstands and Show-N-Shine registration open at 6 p.m. CT with drags practice from 6:15-8 p.m. Drag racing competition in the various classes begins at 9:15 p.m.
