KANSAS CITY, Kan. \u2014 Joey Logano doesn\u2019t mind that rain has played havoc with qualifying for three of the first four races in the NASCAR Cup Series Chase presented by Mobil 1.<\/p>\n

With rain wiping out both practice and time trials for Sunday\u2019s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway (3 p.m. ET on USA, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), Logano will start on the pole for the fourth postseason race.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll take rain,\u201d said Logano, who earned the top starting spot through a combination of his victory last Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway and the position of his No. 22 Team Penske Ford in owner points.<\/p>\n

A three-time series champion\u2014most among full-time active drivers\u2014Logano enters the Kansas race third in the Chase standings, 16 points behind leader Kyle Larson, who will start Sunday\u2019s race beside Logano on the front row.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarting up front is always good,\u201d Logano said. \u201cWe\u2019ll see if we have enough pace when you\u2019re up there. You have a lot of fast cars around you. We\u2019ll see what we\u2019ve got.\u201d<\/p>\n

Logano was first out during a scheduled practice session that was halted by rain almost before it began.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a perfect world, we would have gotten to practice, and it rained out qualifying,\u201d Logano quipped. \u201cI thought we were practicing and qualifying when I showed up at the race track this morning. The radar looked pretty good, and the forecast didn\u2019t look that bad either.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought \u2018We are going to have to do it the hard way today.\u2019 I guess it rained just enough. The curiosity is going to get the best of me, and I am going to want to know what we\u2019ve got. But I can wait one more night. I will be OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

Christopher Bell and Carson Hocevar will start third and fourth, respectively, as Chase drivers occupy the first nine positions on the grid. Ty Gibbs starts fifth, followed by Denny Hamlin (who trails Larson by one point), Bubba Wallace, William Byron and Ryan Preece.<\/p>\n

Tenth-place starter Josh Berry is the only non-Chase driver in the top 10.<\/p>\n

Other Chase drivers will take the green flag from the following positions: Austin Cindric 11th, Chris Buescher 12th, Daniel Suarez 14th, Tyler Reddick 15th, Chase Elliott 18th, Chase Briscoe 23rd and Ryan Blaney 25th.<\/p>\n

The qualifying rainout is particularly tough on Blaney, who will start deep in the field for the second straight week after wrecking out of the Bristol race while contesting second place with Hocevar.<\/p>\n
