AUSTIN, Texas \u2013 Tyler Reddick earned the pole during qualifying Sunday for the inaugural EchoPark Automotive Texas Grand Prix NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of The Americas.<\/p>\n

Reddick, driving his No. 8 Cheddar’s Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, recorded a lap time clocked at 132.911 seconds, 92.363 mph.  It was his first Busch Pole Award in 52 NASCAR Cup Series races for the 25-year old racer.  He will also be making his second top-10 start this season when the green flag waves at 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis pole is a huge testament to all the hard work everyone does at RCR, ECR, and Chevrolet. Road racing has been a big challenge in my career and I\u2019ve worked really hard to get better at it,\u201d Reddick said.  \u201cRunning yesterday\u2019s NXS race helped me with some valuable seat time, so it\u2019s great to see all that hard work come together with a pole. It\u2019s a great way to start the day in our Cheddar\u2019s Scratch Kitchen Chevrolet and hopefully get Chevrolet their 800th win in NASCAR.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kyle Larson was second fastest in the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet at 133.011, 92.293 mph.  Larson posted his eighth top-10 start of 2021.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the top 12 were Austin Cindric, Kyle Busch, William Byron, Joey Logano, AJ Allmendinger, Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Kevin Harvick and Alex Bowman.  Cindric will be making his first top-10 start in five races this season.<\/p>\n
