Photo by Marc Gewertz\/NHRA<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis is a big win for us because our season has been so up and down,\u201d Force said. \u201cOur wreck in Pomona was a tough start, but it\u2019s because of the support system I have around me \u2013 sponsors and my team \u2013 that got us here today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Force defeated Terry McMillen in the final round with a winning run clocked at 3.762 seconds at 299.46 mph.&nbsp; McMillen crossed the line with a pass of 3.818 at 311.56 mph.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our third car that I\u2019ve run in this season,\u201d Force said.&nbsp; \u201cThat\u2019s a lot going on for me as a driver and the whole team. But we seem to like it. We pulled it out this weekend and didn\u2019t test. Testing was qualifying for us. Photo by Marc Gewertz\/NHRA<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe kind of struggled a little bit today,\u201d Force said.&nbsp; \u201cWe hurt the car a few times but its right at 600 feet on.&nbsp; The tires are spinning and I am driving the thing down and just try to get it to the finish line.&nbsp; I don\u2019t know where the guy is next to me is and it\u2019s about getting there first.&nbsp; I saw our win lights come on and we did it in the final round and that is the most important.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McMillen, who was competing in his first final round race of the season and for his second career victory, reached the finals by defeating Antron Brown in the first round, Billy Torrence in the second round and Leah Pritchett in the semifinals.<\/p>\n<p>The victory was her first of the season and eighth of her career.&nbsp; She also becomes the seventh different driver at John Force Racing history to score a win at Royal Purple Raceway.&nbsp; John Force, Courtney Force, Ashley Force, Robert Hight, Mike Neff and Tony Pedregon have all won Wally trophies here.<\/p>\n<p>After climbing out of the car after her winning run, Force was very emotional while being interviewed by FOX Sports on television.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was emotional because it\u2019s built off the championship,\u201d Force said.&nbsp; \u201cIt\u2019s built off Pomona. Our team leaving Pomona last season was on this high.&nbsp; We won a championship and that\u2019s something every driver dreams of and we were able to accomplish that.&nbsp; Coming back out to the opening and first race of the season at Pomona, the same track then the ultimate happened and then we wrecked.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Force added, \u201cIt was really tough in Phoenix getting back in that car.&nbsp; In Phoenix my guys knew it and for me I didn\u2019t care about winning the race.&nbsp; For me it was about getting back in that car and making runs.
