Meet Dennis Hauger, the new face of A.J. Foyt Racing.<\/p>\n

Hauger, the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year, has signed a multi-year agreement to drive the No. 14 Homes For Our Troops Chevrolet beginning with the 2027 season.<\/p>\n

Hauger finished 22nd<\/sup> in the final 2026 point standings driving Dale Coyne Racing\u2019s No. 19 Honda. A 23-year-old native of Norway, Hauger replaces Santino Ferrucci in Foyt\u2019s signature No. 14 Chevrolet.  The 28-year-old Dallas resident placed 17th<\/sup> in the final driver standings during his fourth full-time season (2023-2026) with Foyt\u2019s Waller, Texas-based team. Ferrucci\u2019s best finish with the team was second on the Streets of Detroit in 2025; his best overall point-finish was ninth in 2024.<\/p>\n

The organization founded by 91-year-old Houston native\/open-wheel icon A.J. Foyt Jr. _ first four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 _ is winless in INDYCAR since Takuma Sato of Japan won the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach street race in April 2013.<\/p>\n

Hauger brings an impressive r\u00e9sum\u00e9 to Foyt Racing as one of the youngest drivers in the paddock. Hauger moved to America in 2025 to compete in the INDY NXT by Firestone developmental series and quickly produced podium results. Hauger won six races and the championship in his rookie season before graduating to INDYCAR in 2026 with DCR.<\/p>\n

Prior to racing in America, Hauger navigated his way through the European open-wheel ranks. He was the Italian Formula 4 Champion in 2019 and the FIA Formula 3 Champion in 2021 before moving into Formula 2, where he won five races. Hauger also was a longtime member of the Red Bull Junior Team.<\/p>\n

Foyt Racing President Larry Foyt said the combination of Hauger\u2019s experience, youth and ability to adapt made him an attractive addition.<\/p>\n

\u201cDennis has accomplished a lot for someone who is only 23,\u201d said Foyt, 49, who has served in his current role since March 2015. \u201cEvery time he\u2019s moved into something new, he\u2019s adapted quickly and he\u2019s won. Coming over here and winning in INDY NXT as a rookie certainly got everyone\u2019s attention, and then we watched how he progressed through his rookie season in INDYCAR.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hauger’s best finish during the 2026 season was eighth on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road-Course on May 9. He advanced 16 positions on the 2.439-mile\/14-turn layout to win the Jostens Biggest Mover Award.<\/p>\n

\u201cLarry and I have had some very good conversations about the team and where they want to go,\u201d Hauger said. \u201cI\u2019ve learned a lot in my first two years racing in America, but I still feel like there is a lot more for me to learn and accomplish in INDYCAR.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis team has so much history in this sport, but what intrigues me even more was hearing about the future and what they\u2019re building now. I want to work hard with everyone there and see how far we can take it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hiring Hauger is an integral part of Larry Foyt’s plan for the future of the team his father founded in 1965. \u201cWe\u2019ve spent a lot of time talking about where we want this team to go,” said Foyt, a graduate of TCU in Fort Worth. “We\u2019re investing in our people, our technical side and our commercial program because we want to continue moving forward. Dennis is a big part of that plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re fortunate to have partners like Hendricks Holding Company and Homes For Our Troops who believe in what we\u2019re doing with the No. 14 program. They\u2019ve given us the opportunity to keep building, and now it\u2019s our job to make the most of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Indeed, Hauger will be introduced to a central component of the No. 14 program when he makes his first public appearance with Foyt Racing next month.<\/p>\n

On Oct. 2, Hauger will join the team at the GM Defense Valor & Velocity Gala at the GM Design Dome in Warren, Mich., where the Homes For Our Troops Indy car will be on display. The evening supports the Medal of Honor Foundation and will bring together senior GM leadership, military leaders and members of the U.S. defense community.<\/p>\n

Also attending will be Diane Hendricks and her daughter, Konya Hendricks Schuh, of Hendricks Holding Company, Inc.; Gen. (USA, Ret.) Richard A. Cody, Chairman of the Board of Homes For Our Troops and President\/CEO of HFOT and Brig. Gen., USA (Ret.) Tom Landwermeyer.<\/p>\n

Hendricks Holding Company, Inc. (HHC) is a private firm that invests in and oversees diverse, financially strong and sustainable companies. HHC supports its portfolio companies by providing resources to help them achieve their business goals and deliver best-in-class services.<\/p>\n

Homes For Our Troops builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9\/11 veterans, enabling them to rebuild their lives. HFOT is a publicly funded 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Most of these veterans have sustained life-altering injuries, including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis and\/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence veterans sacrificed while defending our country and enable them to focus on their family, recovery and rebuilding their lives.<\/p>\n

Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly to programs supporting veterans. HFOT has built over 440 specially adapted custom homes nationwide, with 67 active projects and more than 1,800 additional veterans who may qualify.<\/p>\n

The organization was represented throughout the 2026 INDYCAR season on Foyt\u2019s No. 14 Chevrolet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been learning more about Homes For Our Troops and what the No. 14 HFOT.org<\/a> car represents,\u201d Hauger said. \u201cIt\u2019s obviously much bigger than racing, and I\u2019m looking forward to meeting General Cody, Diane and Konya and learning more about it. To have my first event with the team connected to Homes For Our Troops and supporting the Medal of Honor Foundation makes it a pretty special way to get started.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ferrucci was teamed with rookie Caio Collet of Brazil during the 2026 season. Caio, a 24-year-old native of Brazil, finished 24th<\/sup> in the final standings driving the No. 4 Combitrans Amazonia Chevrolet.<\/p>\n

Hauger\u2019s signing is the first roster announcement forthcoming from Foyt Racing regarding its 2027 driver lineup. As reported earlier this week by racer.com,<\/em> Foyt Racing has been looking to sign INDY NXT veteran Josh Pierson to a fulltime ride. But Pierson, a 20-year-old native of Portland, Ore., must successfully complete INDYCAR\u2019s licensing evaluation process before he can be considered for the No. 4 Chevrolet. Pierson, who won the first of two races during the season-ending weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca earlier this month, finished 11th<\/sup> in the final point standings.<\/p>\n

For Larry Foyt, the goal behind all of the changes remains simple.<\/p>\n

\u201cDennis wants to win, and we want to win,\u201d Foyt said. \u201cThat\u2019s where everything starts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reigning Indianapolis 500 champion Felix Rosenqvist <\/strong>will be honored Saturday, Dec. 5, by his hometown, V\u00e4rnamo, during a public celebration in the Swedish city.<\/p>\n

Local residents, motorsports fans and visitors are invited to join the city in celebrating Felix\u2019s historic victory on May 24 on the famed 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval. The free, family-friendly event will take place in central V\u00e4rnamo with Rosenqvist as guest of honor.<\/p>\n

\u201cCelebrating an Indy 500 victory in my hometown will be an unforgettable way to conclude the best year of my life,\u201d said Rosenqvist, 34, who also became a father in 2026. \u201cSharing an occasion like this with everyone in V\u00e4rnamo, where the dream began, will feel completely surreal. It will truly be one of those pinch-me moments.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is truly amazing to think that we will all be able to experience and share this together. I\u2019m really looking forward to seeing friends, family and everyone else in V\u00e4rnamo in December.\u201d<\/p>\n

The program will include tributes from the stage, interviews, live music and motorsports-themed activities. Representatives from INDYCAR also will participate in the celebration. Additional news and highlights will be announced closer to the event.<\/p>\n

Rosenqvist earned his first victory in \u201cThe Greatest Spectacle in Racing\u201d in the No. 60 Honda fielded by Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian. Felix edged David Malukas of Team Penske by 0.0233-seconds in the closest finish in the 110-year history of the race.<\/p>\n

\u201cFelix Rosenqvist\u2019s success is an outstanding achievement that has inspired tremendous pride and joy throughout V\u00e4rnamo,\u201d said Staffan Svensson, project manager and destination development officer at V\u00e4rnamo Municipality. \u201cWe want to give the people of V\u00e4rnamo and the motorsports community an opportunity to celebrate him together, while also showcasing the strong sense of community and local pride that exists here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event is being jointly organized by V\u00e4rnamo N\u00e4ringsliv, V\u00e4rnamo City and V\u00e4rnamo Municipality.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis partnership reflects the strong sense of community that makes V\u00e4rnamo what it is,\u201d said Anki Hansson of V\u00e4rnamo N\u00e4ringsliv. \u201cTogether, we want to create a public celebration that honors Felix while also welcoming visitors to V\u00e4rnamo.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rosenqvist has signed to drive for Arrow McLaren beginning with the 2027 NTT IndyCar Series campaign.<\/p>\n

Five INDY NXT by Firestone teams will evaluate <\/strong>drivers for future consideration in a test booked for Monday, Sept. 21, on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road-Course.<\/p>\n

Testing on the 2.439-mile\/14-turn layout will run from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. (EDT), with the Turn 2 Viewing Mounds open to the public.<\/p>\n
