We got a road, we got street courses, ovals, big fast oval, short ovals. It’s pretty cool and requires a whole different type of discipline which is what I’m really excited about for this weekend.”

Besides veterans Kanaan and Dixon, McLaughlin will face a stacked field of drivers including four other past winners Will Power (2011 Race 2 and 2017), Carpenter (2014), Rahal (2016) and Newgarden (2019).

<img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="33540" data-permalink="http://racedaysa.com/index.php/2021/04/30/ntt-indycar-series-returns-to-texas-motor-speedway-this-weekend-for-doubleheader/_jgs-2020-21637-1/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/racedaysa.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/JGS-2020-21637-1-scaled.jpg?fit=2560%2C1707" data-orig-size="2560,1707" data-comments-opened="0" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"8","credit":"Joe Skibinski","camera":"Canon EOS-1D X Mark II","caption":"","created_timestamp":"1591474765","copyright":"Joe Skibinski | IndyCar","focal_length":"600","iso":"320","shutter_speed":"0.0005","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="_JGS-2020-21637-1" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="<p>Will Power during practice for the Genesys 300 at Texas Motor Speedway Saturday, June 6, 2020.
