FORT WORTH, Texas – This past Thursday Denton County’s 100,000th COVID-19 vaccine was  administered at Texas Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n

Since early February Texas Motor Speedway has been a major Denton County Public Health vaccine site, featuring a 16 lanes of traffic which has allowed DCPH officials to administer up to 1,000 doses per hour.<\/p>\n

Despite only operating just two or three days per week due to vaccine availability and having to miss about a week due to the winter storm, it took officials very little time to reach the 100,000 mark.<\/p>\n

Ruth Owens from Little Elm, Texas received the 100,00oth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.  Owens was informed and recognized by Denton County Judge Andy Eads.<\/p>\n
