It was his third at Charlotte and the 22nd of his career, but it was hardly the sort of dominating performance that saw Truex lead a record 392 laps in 2016.<\/p>\n
Quite the contrary. After charging to a lead of nearly three seconds in the first stage of the race, Truex blew a right front tire and slammed the Turn 4 wall hard enough to cause the third caution of the evening. After repairs, Truex restarted 32nd on Lap 79, but by the end of Stage 1 on lap 100, he had rallied to finish ninth and remained in the mix the rest of the night.<\/p>\n
<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"26224\" data-permalink=\"http:\/\/racedaysa.com\/index.php\/2019\/05\/27\/martin-truex-jr-rallies-for-dramatic-coca-cola-600-victory\/monster-energy-nascar-cup-series-coca-cola-600-29\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/racedaysa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/362026.jpg?fit=4323%2C2899\" data-orig-size=\"4323,2899\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"{"aperture":"2.8","credit":"Getty Images","camera":"Canon EOS-1D X Mark II","caption":"CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA - MAY 26: Martin Truex Jr., driver of the #19 Bass Pro Shops\/TRACKER\/USO Toyota, does a burnout after winning the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26, 2019 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
