With four wins in 2018 in her 10,000-horsepower Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS, Force knows she has a car capable of winning a championship and she hopes the test session is the first glimpse of a strong finish to her season.

“We’re feeling good about Dallas and I feel like we’ve got a good race car,” Force said. “We’re all still really motivated and we’ve got a shot at this championship. But you don’t want to fall too far behind and get left in the dust. But anything can happen. You’ve just got to keep pushing and focus on your own car. Otherwise, it can all make your head spin.”

Brittany Force (Top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock), and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were last year’s winners of the event that will be televised on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and FOX Sports 2 (FS2), including live final eliminations coverage on FS2 starting at 12:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, Oct. 7. It is the third of six races in the Countdown to the Championship and the 21st of 24th in a 2018 NHRA season that had been incredible for Force until the playoffs.

<img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="19527" data-permalink="http://racedaysa.com/index.php/2018/06/13/funny-car-points-leader-courtney-force-looking-for-a-first-at-fitzgerald-usa-thunder-valley-nationals/force_courtney_2018-2/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/racedaysa.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Force_Courtney_2018.jpg?fit=1500%2C2100" data-orig-size="1500,2100" data-comments-opened="0" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"6.3","credit":"JERRY FOSS NHRA/NATIONAL DRAGSTE","camera":"NIKON D5","caption":"","created_timestamp":"1518047145","copyright":"2018 NHRA/NATIONAL DRAGSTER","focal_length":"122","iso":"200","shutter_speed":"0.00625","title":"","orientation":"1"}" data-image-title="Force_Courtney_2018" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="<p>Courtney Force.
