Würth-y honor: Fort Worth Mayor Parker issues proclamation for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at TMS

FORT WORTH, Texas –
Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker and various city officials are keenly aware of the impact the NASCAR race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway provides to the area as an annual economic engine and boon to tourism.
In a ceremonial tribute to Sunday’s Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY NASCAR Cup Series race, Mayor Parker has proclaimed to temporarily rename the city “Fort Würth” on race day to acknowledge the significance of this annual major sporting event.
“It’s truly an incredible honor for Würth to have the City of Fort Worth recognize our involvement with Texas Motor Speedway by renaming the city ‘Fort Würth’ on May 4, 2025,” said Thomas O’Neill, Member of the Central Management Board of the Würth Group. “This gesture is extremely meaningful to our entire organization and to the thousands of Würth Group employees around the globe who take immense pride in everything we do. We are deeply grateful to Mayor Mattie Parker and the great city of Fort Worth for welcoming us with such open arms and for their tremendous support. We look forward to celebrating this historic moment together and building an even stronger bond between Würth, Texas Motor Speedway, and this amazing community.”
Since opening in 1997, Texas Motor Speedway has staged numerous races and events that have helped raise the awareness of Fort Worth as a vibrant city and tourist destination. It will be no different for the Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY NASCAR tripleheader. The race weekend already has attracted fans from all 50 states and 15 international countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland and Uruguay.
The Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY will be televised nationally on FS1 beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT and also available to more than 200 countries through NASCAR’s international feeds.

The proclamation, sponsored and signed by Mayor Parker, states in part:

WHEREAS, the city of Fort Worth embraces the opportunity to further unify our community through this exciting moment, and in acknowledgement of the significance of the Würth 400 race, we are excited to temporarily rename the city as Fort Würth, underscoring our pride and support of this prestigious event …
NOW, THEREFORE, I encourage all residents of Fort Worth and race fans from near and far to join us in celebrating this landmark occasion by attending the race, supporting our local economy, and sharing in the excitement as Fort Würth once again takes center stage in the world of motorsports. The City of Fort Worth does hereby proclaim May 4th, 2025 as: “Fort Würth “The Würth 400” in the City of Fort Worth.
In addition to the Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY, Texas Motor Speedway also will host NASCAR’s two other national series. The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250 opens the weekend at 7 p.m. today and will be followed by the Xfinity Series Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
