FORT WORTH – Anchored by NASCAR’s tripleheader weekend May 2-4, Texas Motor Speedway’s 2025 events calendar lists 22 events showcasing a variety of motorsports and non-sporting activities encompassing 44 days.

“Texas Motor Speedway is proud to once again provide our fans with a wide array of ‘can’t-miss’ events during our 29th season of operation,” TMS Executive Vice President/General Manager Mark Faber said in a news release. “From the May 2-4 NASCAR tripleheader weekend to Goodguys Rod & Custom shows and new events like FoodieLand, there’s something for longtime racing fans and first-time visitors to ‘The Great American Speedway.’^”

NASCAR’s three national touring series _ Craftsman Truck, Xfinity and Cup _ will make their lone visits to the high-banked/1.5-mile oval this season on May 2-4 with a full schedule of practice, qualifying and racing.

Chase Elliott scored a double-overtime victory in the headline Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 Cup race on April 15, 2024 to earn his first victory in 42 starts dating to the 2022 season. The 2020 Cup champion and driver of the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet prevailed in three late-race restarts _ including two in overtime _ to claim his first Cup win in Cowtown and first trophy since a Playoff victory at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2022.

Roush Fenway Keselowski co-owner/driver Brad Keselowski, the 2012 Cup champion, was runnerup in the No. 6 Ford Mustang, 0.558-seconds behind Elliott. William Byron, Elliott’s Hendrick teammate, completed the podium in the No. 24 Chevrolet.

The Xfinity race saw JR Motorsports driver Sam Mayer execute a last-lap pass on veteran Ryan Sieg to claim his victory in the Andy‘s Frozen Custard 300. Officially, the margin of victory was 0.002-seconds as Mayer‘s No. 1 JR Motorsports Chevrolet and Sieg‘s No. 39 RSS Racing Ford crossed the finish line door-to-door, bumper-to-bumper. The cars were so close officials needed a brief extra look to formally declare Mayer the winner. The win was Mayer‘s first of the year and fifth of his career.

The weekend began Friday night with Kyle Busch claiming a record-tying sixth NASCAR Craftsman Truck victory, as “Rowdy” defeated Corey Heim by 0.112-seconds in the SpeedyCash.com 250. A two-time Cup champ, Busch‘s sixth win in a Texas Motor Speedway truck race tied him with Todd Bodine for most in the series dating to the track’s opening season in 1997.

In fact, Busch has won the last four Truck Series races he has entered at the track. The victory also was Busch‘s 20th overall at TMS _ an unprecedented tally that includes four Cup victories and 10 Xfinity race wins.

Busch led a race-high 112 of 167 laps in the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado, and won both stages.

Highlighting the non-racing events is the 53rd annual Pate Swap Meet set for April 24-26. The Pate Swap Meet Association currently consists of the 14 largest vintage car clubs in Texas, with the event serving the car restoration hobby and collection of antique, vintage and notable automobiles and hot rods. Pate Swap Meet is the largest event of its type in the Southwest and second-largest in the United States. Operations of the Pate Swap Meet have been located at Texas Motor Speedway since 1998.

Vendor-wise, the event is organized by street and block and space, allowing visitors to readily locate folks eager to deal inventories of the following _ New Old Stock (NOS) car parts, Genuine Old Rusty car parts, complete (and typically grease-covered) V8 engines, front clips, hoods, grilles, tires, wheels, tools, steering wheels, antique and reproduction signs and gas pumps, license plates, emblems, manuals, diecast collectibles, assorted clothing and homemade Americana yard art. Motorcycles of various makes, and their parts, occupy their own space in the Pate landscape.

Goodguys traditionally has kicked off its event season in March with the LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals presented by TREMEC. But in 2024 the popular event was moved to the weekend of April 26-28 to coincide with the Pate Swap Meet. The event also featured new attractions, including a drift exhibition and Friday night drag racing and the moving of Goodguys CPP AutoCross racing to the Texas Motor Speedway Road-Course.

“The overall event utilized multiple areas of the Texas Motor Speedway facility,” Faber said. “With Goodguys taking over the entire infield plus the Pate Swap Meet spanning the asphalt parking area, it was a very memorable weekend for everyone.” The result was the biggest Pate Swap Meet to-date.
